Chandigarh, Punjab: Former Punjab Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Harcharan Singh Brar died at the PGI here today. He had been unwell of late. The Punjab Government has announced state funeral that will take place at his village, Sarai Naga (Near Muktsar), at 3 pm tomorrow.
SAD wants royalty on state waters

Chandigarh, Punjab: Punjab and the Centre appear to be headed for a fresh confrontation over the issue of inter-state water sharing. Nearly 62 years after the Independence, Punjab has decided to take the Centre head on and demand a royalty on water to the tune of Rs 20,000 crore for the water flowing into Rajasthan.
Centre urged to review Punjabi NRI blacklist

Amritsar, Punjab: Eminent citizens of the state have urged the Union government to review the blacklist which has banned several Punjabi NRIs from visiting India. “There should be an urgent and objective review of the cases of Punjabi NRIs blacklisted in the 1980s and debarred from visiting the country,” said former engineer HS Jatana.
Punjab wants Rs 7,400 cr to tackle drought
