UK: Attempts made by pseudo-scholars of Sikhism to try and create controversies are a part and parcel of Sikhism these days. The in-depth knowledge needed to understand Sri Dasam Granth requires hard work. However, a new breed of pseudo scholars and Internet cut and paste merchants are the standard. Whilst many Panthic scholars who, by nature, are pro-Dasam Granth have had years of training and methodology related to religion, studies of scripture etc, the opposite side is literally naked! In their bandwagon are the ‘YouTube’ Gianis, truck drivers, an excommunicated ex-Jathedar of the Akal Takht and the self-appointed Singh Sabha Canada – what a joke.

Amritsar, Punjab: Highest spiritual and temporal seat of the Sikhs, Sri Akal Takht Sahib, today declared its former Jathedar Professor Darshan Singh as ‘Tankhaiya’ (guilty of religious misconduct). The Sikh clergy, after a marathon meeting, issued an edict awarding the religious punishment to Darshan Singh who previously had been warned several times by Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

Stockton, California: Few years ago, there was a Hukamnama warning sangat to be aware of Ragi Darshan Singh’s blasphemy against Nitnem and Dasam Granth sahib. This message was sent by the then active Jathedar, Bhai Joginder Singh Vedanti and is available here. Even after being aware of the presence of the Hukamnama, many organizations, Gurdwara managements and self-made ex-freedom fighters ignored the message sent from Akal Takht and continued to invite the controversial Sikh preacher around the world. Many places attracted a huge opposition from common sangat.

New York, NY: JUS Punjabi TV aired Mudda programme today. The hosts were Mr Riar, Gurcharanjit singh Lamba and Mr Bhamra. Ragi darshan singh was on the phone to give clarification for his blasphmeous remarks against Guru gobind singh ji.There were also 15 to 20 of his supporters inside Studio who were allowed as a courtesy.
