Sultanpur Lodhi, Punjab: A multimedia-enabled museum depicting Sikh history and achievements would be opened soon at Nirmal Kutiya, under the patronage of environmentalist Balbir Singh Seechewal.
Work is on at a war footing to complete the construction of the museum by November 26, so that people visiting Sultanpur Lodhi, the holy city, might be able to access the range of information stored on the main tenets, foundations and heritage of their religion.
Being set up at a cost of nearly 20 lakh, the museum would be equipped with the latest technology, including touch.
“Six LED/LCD (two big and four small), speakers, headphones, touch screens and interconnected computers would facilitate visitors to listen the preaching of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in English and Punjabi. Besides it, the use of graphics, animations and illustrations would make the experience memorable for the visitors,” said Seechewal.
“For collection and storage of information, services of Sikh Scholar Raghubir Singh Bains are being taken. He provided us a software, which is flexible enough to be modified by us according to our needs and requirements,” said Gurwinder Singh, a close associate of Balbir Singh Seechewal.
Besides, Sikh History, a gallery has been devoted to the Kaali Bein Kaar Sewa which has emerged as an example to follow for countrymen.
“The museum will remain open round the clock for visit ors visiting Sultanpur Lodhi after November 2 6. We will depute sewadars as guides so that visitors enjoy their visit and are provided any information needed on Sikh heritage and religion,” he added.
