Picked up by Punjab Police two days back, Jasvir Singh Manki is now lodged in Malerkotla Jail

Barnala, Punjab: According to information available about the Jasvir Singh Jassa of Manki village of Barnala, who was picked up by the police on August 13, 2014 has been lodged in Malerkotla jail. The family members of Jasvir Singh Jassa were initial kept in dark by the police regarding his whereabouts after he was picked up by Punjab cops on Aug. 13 from his house.

Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told that the police has reportedly detained Jasvir Singh under preventive detention clause – sections 107/151 of Criminal Procudure Code.

The police claimed that Jasvir Singh has been detained in wake of India’s Independence Day on August 15 and death anniversary of slain Akali Dal leader Harchand Singh Longowal. He would remain in Malerkotla jail till August 22. The family has heaved a sigh of relief after receiving the news of his presence in Malerkotla jail.
