Instructions issued for Pakistan-bound Sikh pilgrims

Chandigarh,panjab: Residents of Haryana desiring to visit Pakistan on a pilgrimage to Gurdwaras on the occasion of Gurupurab marking the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev may apply to Pakistan high commission in New Delhi for their passport and visa, an official spokesman said on Sunday.

He said the Union government has prepared a list of functions to be organized on Gurupurab in November as per which pilgrims would leave for Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib from Amritsar on November 23 and return on November 24. They would leave for Gurudwara Sri Nanak Sahib on November 25 and return on November 26.

Similarly, pilgrims would leave from Sri Nanak Sahib for Gurdwara Sacha Sauda Chuhaarkana Shekhupura on November 27 and return by same evening.

The birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev would be celebrated at Sri Nankana Sahib on November 28. They would leave from Sri Nankana Sahib for Gurdwara Dera Sahib, Lahore on November 29 and for Gurdwara Rori Sahib on November 30.

Pilgrims would reach back Gurdwara Dera Sahib, Lahore by evening. They would take rest at Gurdwara Dera Sahib, Lahore on December 1 and would arrive at Amritsar from Dera Sahib, Lahore on December 2.
