Amritsar, Punjab: Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has decided to serve Langar in front of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s bungalow in Lutyen’s Delhi on Monday after the completion of 72 hours ultimatum given to Gandhi by DSGMC and Shiromani Akali Dal (B), Delhi unit to reveal the names of Congressmen involved in Sikh’s massacre during November 1984.
“We will hold a peaceful dharna and would serve Langar including dal-sabzi but not sweets in front of Rahul Gandhi’s house at 12 Tuglak Lane on Monday”, said DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK while talking to TOI here on Sunday.
GK was in Amritsar on a personal visit.
Sikh bodies have been fuming with anger ever since Gandhi family scion Rahul Gandhi has ‘confessed’ about the involvement of his party men in 1984 Sikh genocide in an interview given to a TV channel.
Sikh organizations have opened a front against Gandhi by holding demonstrations, rallies and burning his effigies.
GK informed that they had made arrangement of Langar for around five thousand persons including family members of 1984 victims.
“But we will not litter the place and would carry back the serving plates, leftovers etc.” he said while adding that they had deleted sweets from menu since it was not a celebration but a moment of grief for the entire Sikh community.
He said if Rahul failed to reveal the names of Congress leaders who had played a proactive role in Sikh’s killing or given shelter to the killers of Sikh men, women and children after 72 hours ultimatum then leaders of DSGMC and SAD(B) would hold a meeting to chalk our future course of action .
Sources in DSGMC told TOI that nothing has been left on chances for the success of demonstration against Vice President of Congress party and duties had been assigned to various DSGMC members owing allegiance with SAD(B) to bring victims and their family members in large number to protest against Rahul Gandhi to show their strength ahead of Lok Sabha elections.
