Amritsar, Punjab: The Akal Takht still remains undecided on the course of action to be taken against those who were involved in the clash between two groups at Takht Patna Sahib in Bihar on Gurpurav early this month.
The matter was discussed at the meeting of the Sikh high priests held here on Monday but no decision was taken in this regard. Akal Takht jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh presided over the meeting while Takht Damdama Sahib jathedar Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh, Takht Keshgarh Sahib jathedar Giani Mal Singh, Harmandir Sahib head granthi Giani Jagtar Singh and Giani Sukhjinder Singh were present.
Interestingly, Takht Patna Sahib jathedar Giani Iqbal Singh did not attend the meeting. The clash had taken place between the supporters of Giani Iqbal Singh and those aligned with the Takht Patna Sahib management committee. The clash occurred after Giani Partap Singh’s appointment as additional head granthi of Takht Patna Sahib was announced to which Giani Iqbal Singh objected on the grounds that he was not consulted.
