New York, USA: Three men have been arrested andcharged with the murder of an Indian-origin gasstation attendant in the U.S. in a failed robberybid.Isaiah Williams, 24, Cordero Hodge, 22, andJamell Pierce, 22, from New Jersey have beencharged by the Gloucester county prosecutor’soffice for murdering Surinder Singh, the SouthJersey Times reported Tuesday.
The victim, a gas station attendant at GardenState Fuel in Woodbury, was killed in fatal shootingAug 25 by the three men.
surinder Singh, 40, was shot in the upper chest and near hisright armpit.He lived in Woodbury for about 10 years and leftbehind two children and his wife.Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean F. Daltonsaid the three accused planned a robbery but afterSingh resisted them they fired at him.Friends and customers say Singh was a kind man.
The gas station where Singh worked built amemorial in his memory.Authorities, however, later confirmed that nothingwas stolen during the robbery bid.
