DrSingh On Sunday Singh Sabha Gurdwara of Buena Park held a Red Cross blood donation drive in commemoration of the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Arjun Dev ji. This was the first blood donation drive held at this Gurdwara. The Sadh Sangat responded well in memory of Sri Guru Arjun Dev ji who highlighted the spirit.
Everybody was feeling that they can do some service to the community by donating blood and commemorate the martyrdom day. Dr. Amrit Singh, MD, FACC, Chairman of the event, gave the Red Cross staff pamphlets describing the five K’s of the Khalsa and the basic principles of Sikhism.
Also this blood drive was done in the same spirit as shown by Bhai Kaniya ji During Guru Gobind Singh ji’s time giving water and ointment to the injured and thinking that they are the children of same one God.
Many national organization and Gurdwaras sent congratulations to the donors from the Sadh Sangat for their contribution for the benefit off the country off their adoption. Also the pictures off the Sadh Sangat donating blood depict the blood drive. Due to great enthusiasm in sprit of giving more blood drives will be held in future. Soon there is a health fair being organized for the benefit of the Sadh Sangat. If other Gurdwaras or organizations are interested in these events, they can contact Dr. Amrit Singh, at 562-225-7784562-225-7784 or amritsinghmd@gmail.com. The Red Cross people were happy and they sent a thank you letter to the Gurdwara Management for support and hospitality. They especially appreciated the Langar.

Hi Dr. Singh, your kindness and that of all those from the temple was superb and heartwarming! Thank you so much for the accommodation and for your time and effort to enlist donors! You had 19 qualified donors give blood which will help as many as 57 people! I’m sorry I was not able to stay for lunch, but your offer of lunch for my staff was really kind, I do hope some of them took advantage of the offer! 😉
Please let all those who helped support your blood drive know how much we appreciate all of your time and generosity! The ladies I met were so dignified and beautiful! We did have a high number of deferrals, so, I’ll have to review the operations report to see if we can identify anything specifically that caused deferrals…I believe we had upwards of 12…or more. possibly due to travel, low iron, under weight…these are usually the main reasons… but if it’s anything more specific, I’ll let you know.
As you likely know, donors can give as frequently as every 56 days, certainly we would appreciate the opportunity to come back again perhaps in late Fall?
Thank you so much…I truly enjoyed working with you! You are a really quite humorous! :
Blessing,
