Amritsar, Punjab: Giving a clean chit to followers of Dera Radha Soami sect, the Akal Takht on Sunday stated the community had not indulged in any blasphemous act in demolition of a gurdwara in Warraich village.
Members of the Sikh community had alleged that followers of the Beas-based sect had demolished an old gurdwara on a plot owned by them at Warraich village in Beas area of Amritsar district, following which SGPC set up a three-member panel to investigate the matter.
Talking to reporters in Amritsar on Sunday, Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh said the SGPC fact-finding committee revealed that the gurdwara on the disputed site and ‘Guru Granth Sahib’ had been shifted long ago and recitations from the holy book too had stopped at the place.
The Jathedar further said that the complaint filed before the Akal Takht was in regard to sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib and not in reference to the demolition of the gurdwara.
Gurbachan Singh asked all Sikh organisations to stop their protests and said strict action would be taken against those who did not adhere to the decision.
Members of the Sikh community and followers of Radha Soami sect were at loggerheads over a disputed land that belonged to Warraich panchayat and was allegedly sold to the dera without obtaining the mandatory approval from panchayats director.
Tension mounted further after members of dera Radha Soami sect allegedly allegedly destroyed a section of the one-room gurdwara existing on the land.
To resolve the dispute, the Akal Takht had directed SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar to form a three-member committee to investigate into the matter and submit its report.

Akal Takht is just promoting Gobind Sadan of Baba Virsa Singh Maryada. By 2020 there will be Prakash of Dasam Granth in many Gurdwara Sahib in Punjab alongwith Guru Granth Sahib. Also there will be Havan of Jaap Sahib. Baba Sri Chand Gurpurab will have more significance then that of Guru Angad Sahib. Already Darbar Sahib Galliara has idols of Baba Sri Chand installed.
Somewhere someone is hiding some facts and truth.Is it the Sikh channel, the panchayit or is it the jathedar, or the derawalas?However, as long as the Akal aTakhat is under The Badal & Co, no Sikh should expect fair, unbiased and impartial solution from teh Akal Takhat.These Deras hold large chunks of block voting numbers through their adherents-that is what matters to Badal.But somehow, I get the niggling that some has not been economical with truth!sachai’an sach na hovi…kaum da ki banega?
What Sikh nation is missing is that Badal has used these Deras ( most of them under the direct or indirect patronage of BJP/RSS and Indian intelligence agencies) to gather votes for himself and his son. Now their relationship has been further solidified when Harsimrat Badal’s brother Bikram Majithia has married Genieve Grewal who is from Baba Charan Singh of Dera Radha Soami from Beas. The meeting to discuss the Gurdwara demolition this dera was to be held on August 7. But orders to our cowardly Jathedar from Badal gang changed all that and now he is protecting the dera as desired by his political masters. Gurbachan Singh MUST immediately resign as he is unfit to occupy this esteemed position.
