Amritsar, Punjab: Former Delhi Singh Gurdwara Management committee (DSGMC) president Paramjit Singh Sarna today said that ‘kar sewa’ of the historic Gurdwara Dehra Sahib in Lahore, associated with Guru Arjan Dev, would begin in November.
Talking to the mediapersons on his return from Pakistan today, Sarna said they held a meeting with officials of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), that looks after the gurdwara affairs in Pakistan, and discussed the master plan for the ‘kar sewa’. He said ETPB officials had given the go-ahead to reconstructing the gurdwara building.
On the blueprint, he said the new gurdwara building would have a hall to accommodate 1,000 devotees. It would have a spacious ‘langar’ hall too. He said the existing gurdwara building was in bad shape.
He said the ‘kar sewa’ would be launched in the first week of November in the presence of religious leaders. The PSGPC had invited Sikh organisations across the world on the occasion.
