Amritsar, Punjab: Denying the claim made by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) that Akali Dal (Amritsar) led by Simranjit Singh Mann is responsible for the unfortunate clash at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on June 6, Sri Amritsar police commissioner Jatinder Singh Aulakh revealed that the 21 youth who were arrested for allegedly triggering the clash have no connection with Mann’s Party.
Talking to reporters here, Mr. Aulakh said that 28 youths had been charged for the offence of allegedly spoiling environment by terrorizing the attendees with dangerous weapons like swords. “Of them, 21 were arrested and rest are being searched by the police”, he told. Simranjit Singh Mann’s party, he denied about reality of any such statements. He also told that the legal action was taken against the arrested youth following the complaint filed by Partap Singh, Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib.
The arrested Sikh youth were presented by the Police today before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Parminder Singh. The youth have been sent to jail on judicial remand of 14 days implementing the order of the Court.
