Amritsar, Punjab: After helping Army and the state government in evacuation and distribution of relief material to Uttrakhand flood victims, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) is to adopt four disaster-hit villages near Hemkunt Sahib and rehabilitate the villagers.
DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK said the body had in principle decided to adopt Pandukeshwar and Gobind Ghat besides two more villages.
He said local MLA from Badrinath Rajinder Singh Bhandari was keen on DSGMC adopting the villages in his constituency. “A high-powered team will assess the damage in these villages following which a detailed plan will be chalked out,” said Manjit.
