SGPC launches Live Kirtan app for iPhone, iPad

Amritsar, Punjab: It is learnt that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) launched a new internet application ‘live kirtan’ for the convenience of Sikh Sangat across the globe.

The internet mobile app that was launched by SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar on February 02, 2013 shall works on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It is notable that this app shall be available for free of the cost.

On the launch of the app SGPC President Avtar Singh Makkar said that this self-sufficient application had been launched to connect devotees from across the world with the Gurbani.

Detailing about the application, Jaspal Singh, in-charge of internet section of SGPC reportedly said that the application had been designed in a user-friendly manner and was available in English and Punjabi language.

Separate sections had been created for Hukumnaama, Gurbani and Guru Granth Sahib in the application.

“The biggest advantage of this application is that the Kirtan of ilahi bani automatically loads when the app is launched” he reportedly added.
The daily Hukumnaama can be easily read and heard without moving to any other page. Hukumnaama archive has also been created.

  1. Theres many sikh apps already been released,whats so special about this? U guys are way behind in the world, give all the golak money to the poor and stop filling your own pockets

  2. Please look at the ‘Rehras Sahib’ bani in this app by SGPC. There are two(2) chaupai Sahib in this bani. Anyone care to look and search for the answer? Is it per ‘Sikh Code of Conduct’ or ‘Rehat Maryada’?
