‘Panj Takht Special Train’ starts on 16 Feb from Dhuri

Sangrur, Punjab: Vijay Inder Singla, Member of Parliament (Sangrur – Punjab) said that on the occasion of Basant Panchami today he is happy to announce that Indian Railways has agreed to run a ‘Panj Takht Special’ train. The first journey of this train will start on 16 February 2014 at 10.00 AM from Dhuri Railway Station and will cover the Sikh pilgrimages of Shri Hazoor Saheb (Nanded), Shri Patna Saheb, Shri Damdama Saheb (Talwandi Saboo), Shri akal Takhat Sahib (Harmandir sahib) and Shri Kesh Garh Sahib (Anandpur sahib) and will finally complete its first journey at Dhuri on 25 February 2014.

Congress MP from Sangrur thanked the Prime Minister, Congress Vice President and Railway Minister for starting this Yatra train and stated that he had taken up this demand with the Railway Minister on 17 November, 2013 during his visit to Dhuri Junction last year.

He informed that this special Panj Takht train will enable the people of Punjab to visit the Sikh Gurudwaras of special significance at a low cost in a comfortable train environment – a facility which was not available earlier. The tickets for this 10 day Yatra can be booked at a Reasonable Amount Which will including all expenses Like train fare, food and lodging etc. Sangrur MP mentioned that bookings for Panj Takht train can be made from tomorrow on internet or manually at Dhuri & Sangrur Railway Station.
