Release Sikh prisoners who have completed their term, say religious bodies

Bathinda, Punjab: The Sardariyan Youth Charitable Trust today held a protest march in the city demanding the release of Sikh prisoners who have completed their jail terms but have not been released from the jails.

Supporting Bhai Gurbaksh Singh, who is sitting on hunger strike in wake of this demand, the members of the organisation started their protest march from Gurudwara Qila, which culminated at the District Administrative Complex where they submitted a charter of demands to the Tehsildar Bathinda.

The protestors gathered at the Gurudwara Qila at 10 am and started a peaceful march. Other religious organisations of the city also supported the protest march. The protestors walked through Dhobi Bazar, Mall Road, Hanuman Chowk and reached the District Administrative Complex.

Prominent among other participating in the march included Bhai Sukhwinder Singh from Haryana, Makhan Singh Gidderbaha, Bhai Kirpal Singh, Baldev Singh subedar, members of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Gatka Bathinda, local Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee Ganga and others.
