Tables literally turned on the Sikhs, with ‘Singh vs. Food’

London, UK: The UK Sikh Welfare and Awareness Team (SWAT) will be overseeing a professional Sikh eating contest for charity. The charitable organization which focuses on substance awareness, crime diversion, and providing the youth with activities has teamed up with other charities and media giants to host this exciting event.

The charity fundraiser, which is to be held at 7.30pm on Saturday 30November at Super Singhs, Faggs Road, Feltham, Middlesex, will see one representative from six Sikh support organisations, go head to head and be crowned the Singh vs. Food champion.

Sikhs are known for their hospitable nature, serving millions with ‘Langar’ (blessed vegetarian food) from the Guru’s kitchen located in almost every Gurudwara across the world. Over the years, SWAT have been out in the community, hosting soup kitchens in deprived areas to feed the homeless and others in need. Now, Singh vs. Food will literally see the tables turned, with the Sikhs being served to the brink of explosion.

Founder of SWAT, Randeep Singh Lall said, “This event is the first of its kind, bringing together six prominent Sikh charities in a very light-hearted capacity, and will hopefully pave the way for more events like this. It will be a great night for a worthy cause, now isn’t that food for thought?”

Organisations battling it out for the Singh vs. Food crown will include, SWAT, Dharam Sewa Records, Khalsa Bikers, Seva 84, Khalsa Aid and Sikh Organisation for Prisoners Welfare (SOPW).

To witness the exciting event, just turn up with a £5 entry charge. All proceeds will go to charity.
