Sarnas trying to divide Sikhs: Sukhbir

Chandigarh,Punjab: Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal Monday warned Sarnas to refrain from anti-sikh activities with an ulterior motive to divide Sikhs on the name of states to capture the control of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC). He said that the Sarnas could not befool the Sikhs anymore as they were wise enough to read between the lines.

Addressing a gathering during the election campaign for Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee polls at Mayapuri, he said Congress Sarnas were trying to deteriorate Sikh unity on the basis of geographical boundaries. He said that it was the Sikh unity that forced the anti-Sikh Congress government to constitute Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee. He said that more than 99 percent of Sikhs who fought for this noble cause were from Punjab. “Congress party’s nefarious designs to defame the image of Delhi Sikh institutions in particular and Sikhs in general with connivance of their friendly Sarnas are now known to all. I am confident that the whole Sarna Dal will be decimated by January 26,” he added.

Reiterating Shiromani Akali Dal commitment to bring transparency in DSGMC, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said that once elected the new party would set up a Judicial Commission for Sikh shrines and start e-tendering system to review the dubious contracts made by Sarnas.
