Ludhiana, Punjab: To educate the children and help them to choose the right career, gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha of Sarabha Nagar released a book ‘Choose your Career,’ on Sunday.
This is the first time that a gurdwara has taken initiative to guide the children about their career.
This book will be beneficial for students after passing out class 10th or 12th and provide them the required information about various courses.
The book will be available soon in libraries of the various schools so that more students could be benefitted of it. The book will be distributed free of cost.
Talking to HT, Jatinder Singh Sandhu, president of the education welfare committee of gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, said that they had earlier launched a calendar and pamphlets to inform the children to choose the right career of their interest.
This is first time, they have launched an elaborate book which will guide the students about their future career choices.
Jatinder Singh Sandhu said, “The specialty of this book is that it will tell the students about the importance of career planning. It will also encourage them to work hard and stay happy in life. The book will also be beneficial for teachers who can spread knowledge and guide their student about career options.”
The students can get information about various career options in the field of management field, banking sector, company secretaries, medical technology, nursing, engineering, computer sciences, civil services, law, hotel management, Indian Army, Air Force, National Defence Academy, and also about the scholarships for the students.
After releasing the book, Dr Devinder Singh Sandhu, an oncologist, said, “Parents should not pressurise their children to choose a career of their (parents) choice.”
Dr Sandhu added that the book also helps the parents that how to get loan for the education of their children.
Sharing about its life experience, Dr Sandhu said that he belonged to a village and and nobody was available to guide the students about their career. This book was a wonderful way to guide children.
SUMMER CAMP CONCLUDES
A 25-day long summer camp concluded at gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Sarabha Nagar on Sunday.
The children learnt various activities including singing hymns, traffic rules, martial arts, caring of environment and other during this camp.
An exhibition of books was also held by Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle. The students later performed martial arts and gatkha at the gurdwara.
