DSGMC team briefs Bahuguna on rescue work

New Delhi: A delegation of DSGMC called upon the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Vijay Bahuguna, today and prayed for the fast recovery of flood victims. The delegation also apprised him of the rescue work being done by the gurdwara committee.

The delegation was led by the DSGMC president, Manjit Singh (GK). Other members were Avtar Singh Hit, Onkar Singh Thapar, Chaman Singh, Gurbaksh Singh and Samardeep Singh.

The delegation expressed their heartfelt condolences to the state government on behalf of the entire Sikh community.

It also informed the Chief Minister about the relief and rescue operation carried out by the DSGMC at various locations across the state.

The delegation assured the Chief Minister that it would help rescue and evacuate the victims irrespective of their caste or religion.

On June 20, DSGMC’s disaster management team arrived in Uttarakhand for the relief operations.

Till today, the DSGMC has evacuated more than 4,000 persons.

The DSGMC has placed its team at various locations, including Badrinath, Joshimath, Gauchar, Govind Ghat and Rishikesh. Guru Ka Langar is organized at Rishikesh and Gauchar.

It also engaged a B-200 Aircraft, PC-12 Aircraft, 100 executive buses and 80 MUV vehicles for shifting the stranded persons.
