Sirsa’s DC’s ‘timely help’ saves SGPC member Gurmeet Singh Trilokewala

Chandigarh, Punjab: The condition of Gurmeet Singh Trilokewala is said to be stable. He is being treated at a hospital in Chandigarh.

Trilokewala, who is also a members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), was among the 12 persons injured in a clash between followers of the Dera Sacha Sauda and Sikhs on Saturday.

Sirsa deputy commissioner (DC) J Ganesan said: “I received a call from Trilokewala that his car was surrounded by dera supporters and he had sustained injuries.” The DC said he reached the spot without losing time and rushed Gurmeet Singh to the civil hospital in Sirsa. “Had I asked someone else to go and extend help to Trilokewala, his condition may have worsened which would have triggered violence on a large scale,” the Ganesan added.
