Dear Sikh Community, Don’t you think that the Ragi Darshan Singh’s saga is growing out of proportion at the cost of sanctity of the Akal Takht Sahib? The Akal Takht was instituted by Guru Hargobind Singh Ji as the highest Sikh Institution to strengthen the Community and give direction. When the building of the Akal Takht was damaged during Operation Blue Star, we were all hurt though we rebuilt it by putting bricks and cement together through Kar Seva. And now we are ourselves destroying the very foundation of the Institution of Akal Takht with our own hands. How can the Sikhs accept this? Is this not a mockery?
There is every need to strengthen the Institution of Akal Takht by lending support to it. Cause of one person (Darshan Singh Ragi) is insignificant to see the sacred Institution being brought down with humiliation.
The Akal Takht and its Jathedar should have the supreme respect and backing of the entire Sikh Community. Some forums (national and international) are singing accolade of Darshan Singh Ragi and ignoring the damage being invited to the highest temporal seat of the Sikhs. Darshan Singh has been a good Ragi and as a result he at one time was chosen as a Jathedar. He is also an opportunist who is playing in the hands of Mr. Sarna, President, DSGMC. If you read Darshan Singh Ragi’s commentary on Jap Ji Sahib, you will see what kind of scholar he is. Again I would say he is a good ragi but a harmful orator who indirectly killed many Sikh youths during 1980’s.
I urge all the Sikh to kindly lend your full support to the Institution of Akal Takht as it stands for. There is always room for organizational changes and personalities at the helm of affairs, which could be looked into through constitutional and proper channels.
I request Darshan Singh ji Ragi as well that he should show magnanimity and respect for the Akal Takht. If he feels that he has a case, then he should make an appeal to re-dress his claim. I am sure that the Institution will not let him down.
My dear Sikh-Community, please JAGAO and we should have only one choice to SAVE THE DIGNITY OF THE AKAL TAKHT SAHIB at any cost.

I think we need to know the difference between a Scholar and a good speaker. Prof. Darshan Singh was a good ragi and has been gifted with the art of speaking. Speaking is an art. So if you are a good speaker, that does not mean you are a knowledgeable person. The bottomline is that no one is above Sri Akal Takhat Sahib. He sholud also understand that if you need respect within the Sikhs, you have to have the qualities like Nimarta, Patience, Sabar Santokh, Haleemi. “Aps ko jo bhala kahave, tise bhalai niket na ave.
So Bhai Sahib Ji, Stop fooling your self and stop fooling the Sikh community.
The Darshan Singh needs a mental check up. He used to be great Raggi (I loved his keertan) but with age, he is losing it, I think.
The RSS is behind all this mess and rift over the Dasam Granth. They are the one who are bent over to merge Sikhism into Hinduism while we are busy arguing and being divided within Sikh community. ALL SIKHS (all castes, from all over the world, Amritdharis, Sahejdharis, everyone) need to wake up and get united against these external forces. WE NEED A SIKH LEADER and this is not Badal for sure !! SGPC and Akalis are already sold out to RSS. Badal is giving Saropa to RSS leaders in Harmandar Sahib and we are sitting around the world voiceless and helpless. What happened to us ? Are we still in after shock of Bluestar and 1984 ??? If yes, then Indian Govt. succeeded !!
We need to start discussing these issues in Gurudwaras and Sikh social gathering (instead of Butter chicken and drinking). We need to start Sikh Political groups in each Gurudwara to spell off RSS. RSS is heaviest in Amritsar and they are in every state of USA. If we don't wake up, this is the beginning of the END to the Sikh control on their own Gurudwaras.
RSS, Sangh Pavivar is infiltrating into Gurudwaras and attacking sikh community silently. We need to make Sikh organizations aware of these activities and be vigilent of their activites and strongly oppose these efforts.

This is a well written article by Kirpal Singh-ji.
The problem here is most of our youth unfortunately don't appreciate the importance of Siri Akaal Takht, they have read up of the turbulent histories where the Akaal Takht was influenced by our enemies, unfortunately they haven't read of the struggles to put it back on track. I have no doubt the enemies of Sikhs are rejoicing at their ignorance.
The elders and Gurdwara's have an important part to play, in educating the community to the importance of Siri Akaal Takht.

i was torn between who’s ego got the better of the other, but having read your post, i am now convinced that at least we should respect the hukamnama of the akaal takht (even though some of us may not, at this point, fully agree with their decision to excommunicate ragi ji) … we need to lend more support to akaal takht, i agree, but we need to keep an open mind on this issue …
Ragi and his followers are not friends of sikhs.They are anti sikh agents.They want to destroy akal takhat as an institution of sikhs.
Appeal to all sikh is that do not back these traitors.They are sell outs and are acting at behest of anti sikh forces.
