Akal Takht Sahib, Amritsar: Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh issues a warning that no one would be allowed to take the bani (voice of Gurus) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib for scripting a separate religious book. Talking to news reporter on the issue of formation of separate religion, Ravidassia Dharm, by the followers of Dera Ballan and release of separate granth (book), Amrit Bani Guru Ravidass, the jathedar said contemplation was still on for extending invitations to the Ravidass sect leaders to sink differences, if any.
“If they want to have their separate granth, let them have it. But Sikhs won’t allow them to take bani from Guru Granth Sahib. Compositions of Guru Ravidass are part of Guru Granth Sahib,” Giani Gurbachan Singh said, adding, “How can parts of a living Guru be separated?” The issue came to the fore after Ravidass sect followers announced Ravidassia Dharm as a separate religion, complete with its own granth, symbol and motto, at Banaras last weekend. There has been a simmering discontent among Dalits after the killing of Dera Sachkhand Ballan leader in Vienna last year.
“We are ready to invite their (Dera Sachkhand Ballan) leaders and ask them why they want a separate religion. We are ready to clear misconceptions, if any,” he added. According to the Singh Sahib, 99% of Ravidass followers mark Ravidass Jayanti in attendance of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. There were few vested interests who are bent upon creating a chasm between them and Sikhs, he alleged.

Those who speak their minds think again because Guru Granth says the opposite read below.
On behalf of Mohala Pehal, Mohala Panjva Says: Saints themselves chants and inspires others to chant the Naam the Name of the Lord. My mind is filled with the Mantra of the Holy Saints, and I have risen above the three qualities Gazing upon the Blessed Vision, the Darshan of Bhagat, Satguru, my eyes are filled with love. I am a sacrifice to that occasion. Twenty-four hours a day, those meditate in remembrance on their God; by great good fortune, they have found the Lord. Kabir is merciful the slave of the Lord’s slaves; the humble barber Sain is supreme. Highest of the high is Namdev, who looked upon all alike; Ruvdas embodiment, Manifestation of God. My soul, body and wealth belong to the Saints; my mind longs for the dust of the Saints. And by the radiant Grace of the Saints, all my doubts have been erased. Said Nanak, I have met the Lord. P 1207 Guru Granth
bani of guru ravidaass and other bhagats have been given equal status to that of bani of guru nanak by fifth guru arjan dev ji.
Nobody can doubt any bhagat bani present in shri guru granth sahib. But this is also wrong assumption that only job quota uplifted ravidassias. It was sikhism as well as govt policies which uplifted them beside the hard work of ravidassias
Casteism is big evil and a black spot on sikhism. Let us erase it.
We have to do ourselves, we cannot depend on akal takht or sgpc.
We need to do social works like construction of common cremation grounds in villages , intercaste social functions like rakhri etc.
We need to stop being arrogant of being high caste and ninda chugli of other castes.
Gurudwars should be used for conveying the messgaes of Guru Nanak like not beliveing in casetism
It is true that Bani of all bhakts Kabir ji /Ravidass ji/ Naam dev ji etc has survived because of being part of Guru granth sahib. Be honest and tell me Has SIKH Kaum accepted all lower cast siks as part of them. Go to the villages of punjab and see What Jat sikhs and Ramgariahs do to these low caste so called majhabi Sikhs. Every day their women are raped by high cast sikhs. Sikh dharam was created to eradicate cast system. Ask any jat sikh to get rid of their Gotra, will they do it? In punjab Gurudwars till today a low caste sikhs are treated as second class devotees. Forget about uplifting them. Sikh religion also have caste system.
its not a matter of "its their bani let them have it"… gurbani from bhagat ravidas has only survived because of dhan dhan sri guru granth sahib ji maharal and gursikhi. ravidassiya are originally sikhs… they should give up all the hindu stuff they do, and sikhs should make a huge effort to embrace them. bani guru guru hai bani vich bani amrit sare. accept all bani as bani or none, we shouldnt not pick and choose selected gurbani to fit political agenda's.
nowadays people not thinking straight. no new religion should be made whatsoever.
it is sikh religion that has uplifted the society ignorned by other granths of that time, and given due respect the followers of bhakat ravidas, but still narrow minded wants to keep them as they were before bhakt ravi dass bani was indicted in guru granth sahib it is the people will decide,as after seprating from sikh, they cannot represent them as followers of sikhism
I think this is very wrong assumption. What uplifted was the quota in schools and in employment.
If Sikh gurus can use their guru's baani to write The Granth, then why is it that they can not use baani of their own guru to write a granth?
It is not good to use Guru Granth Saheb Bani for forming some new sect, but at the same time Bani is not for Sikhs but is for whole universe. Though Baani must not be used for some other sect book bt yet how can we stop them to use name and bani of Bhakt Ravi Dasji?
