This should have been done to avoid any criticims and misgivings to the media and the critics. It seems, the Punjab government did not do so due to political reasons and the critics must be aware of it. Similarly Comrade Jyoti Basu dealt firmly with efforts to instigate trouble after the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992.
